The main idea of the programme is to develop general knowledge through core Textile Design subjects as follows.

In depth understanding of textiles
Draping
Pattern Development
Sketching & Garment Designing LITERATURES IN ENGLISH
Historical Knowledge of textiles, Costumes & trends Prevailed, CRITICISM AND THEORYices Marketing,
Acknowledgement of board range of creative work to which costume design can contribute.
Project work in the final semester and industrial visits to various industries help them to become familiarize with the textile Industry practices.

PSO-01 The students will acquire the skills like designing,construction,merchandising,textile science, quality control,etc.

PSO-02 This program provides a way to higher education in specific field and entrepreneurship orientated

As a part of curriculum industrial visit to production units, special lectures , Industrial Internships, Trade fairs , workshops, Earn while learn, Hands on training , Fashion Show, etc., are organized in the department. The course also included practical knowledge like construction dyeing, printing ,fashion illustration, portfolio presentation, computer aided designing, Accessories designing ,etc..,the students can excel in the field as entrepreneur, fashion design, merchandiser, color matching advisor,etc.,

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

PEO1: Demonstrate the professional skills and behavior necessary to complete in the global marketplace for textile surface design (fiber to fabric)
PEO2: Enable them to discover their own strengths whilst building a sound foundation of fashion knowledge and skills
PEO3:Specialize in one of the four path way areas progressing to words final year path way in fashion design, fashion communication, garment technology and design for performance.
PEO4:.Demonstrate the acquaintance in the history of fashion, pattern, and basic theories of fashion design
PEO5:.Reveal leadership participation and problem solving skills in a problem solving and collaborative and environment

UNIQUENESS OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of English was established in 2011.
It offers both UG &PG courses to gain experience in the board spectrum of language and literature.
The department imports students with mastery in the field which produced University Gold Medal (1^st Rank &9^th Rank) in Post Graduates level 2018
Dramas, mime shows, tableau shows and skits performed by students are organized under the Theatre Society GOEWIL & JOFRA.
Our department organized various National and International Conferences, Guest Lectures, and Seminars, since its inception.
