Overview of Department
Sasurie college of arts and science established English department in the year of 2011. Then in 2014 the department upgraded as a post graduate department. The department has thus grow from strength to strength under the committed and competent leadership

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
PEO1: The course offers extensive insight into the history of English literature, while laying special emphasis on various literary movements, genres and writers that are held to be the representatives of their times.
PEO2: By familiarizing students with the socio-cultural ambience and the discursive frameworks of various ages, the cour-cozse helps the students to develop a nuanced appreciation of dthe literary stalwarts of those times
PEO3: The students are also offered an in-depth understanding on the growth of the English language under the influence of various other languages including Latin and French, besides being mentored in the structural nitty-gritties of the language
UNIQUENESS OF THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of English was established in 2011.
It offers both UG &PG courses to gain experience in the board spectrum of language and literature.
- The department imports students with mastery in the field which produced University Gold Medal (1st Rank &9th Rank) in Post Graduates level 2018
Dramas, mime shows, tableau shows and skits performed by students are organized under the Theatre Society GOEWIL & JOFRA.
Our department organized various National and International Conferences, Guest Lectures, and Seminars, since its inception.
